The Rail Academy
The Rail Academy aims to be the leading, independent, provider of rail operations assessments and training in the UK.
We are a registered ORR Train Driver Training and Examination Centre, approved to provide non-apprenticeship train driver training and assessment in general knowledge, rules, routes and traction.
We are also approved by OFQUAL to deliver End Point Assessments for the Train Driver Level 3 Apprenticeship.

The Rail Academy was established in 2020 as part of SLC Operations Ltd. Since July 2022 it has operated as a separate company under the leadership of experienced rail industry leader, Cath Bellamy.
We specialise in supporting safety critical, operating roles including Train Drivers.
We can provide trainers and assessors to bolster your in house teams and programs; design and deliver bespoke training or deliver training and assessments on your behalf. Provided we have not trained them, we can also provide End Point Assessments for your Train Driver Apprentices.
And to ensure the highest professional standards, our assessors are experienced in their roles, appropriately qualified in training and assessment and have their own competence tightly monitored and managed. CMS files are available for inspection and checking by clients if required.

We are a registered ORR Train Driver Training and Assessment Centre with a growing team of experienced and qualified train driver instructors and assessors. The Rail Academy can provide non-apprenticeship train driver training and assessment in general knowledge, rules, routes and rolling stock.
Since September 2023 we have been approved by OFQUAL to deliver End Point Assessment for the Train Driver Level 3 Apprenticeship (ST0645). In the coming months we intend to extend the range of End Point Assessments we can offer.
Our team of trainers and assessors combine skills and experience across most rail operating roles. With The Rail Academy, you can hire qualified personnel to support in house programs, or we can create and deliver bespoke training or assessment. Either way, we promise an outstanding service delivered by a team who are proud of what they do and are focussed on delivering exactly what you want.

We are an ORR registered Train Driver Training and Examination Centre. As the demand to train drivers outstrips in house capacity, we can help. Our teams of experienced trainers and assessors can boost your own resources delivering training, your way.
Train Driver End Point Assessments
We are an OFQUAL approved End Point Assessment Organisation, approved to deliver the specialist final assessments for Train Driver Level 3 apprentices.
Other Safety Critical Operations Training and Assessment
The Rail Academy can help with training in most safety critical operating roles, including Guards and Despatchers - however and wherever it is needed.
